Originally a 16th Century bakery, Wishbone is a period Cotswold stone cottage in a row of terraced limestone properties on Milton Street in the pretty market town of Fairford, which is situated in the beautiful Coln Valley and the Cotswold Water Park

The Space
​
Completely renovated in a current contemporary style, Wishbone retains the old Cotswold cottage charm blended with modern comforts and current technology such as free wireless internet, constant hot water and central heating
THE COTTAGE
In the sitting room is a wooden floor with a rug for your comfort, a wood burner, with wood provided should you wish to light fires during your stay.
There is a leather sofa, leather armchair and 2 individual chairs, good lighting with plenty of lamps, soft throws and lots of cushions.
A digital TV with Freeview Television channels, Amazon Echo, DVD player, books, DVDs, board games and toys
SITTING ROOM
The kitchen has the original flagstone floor and is very well equipped with a large 5 burner range style cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and many pots, pans and cooking utensils.
A good selection of crockery and glassware, a washing machine and tumble dryer, along with an iron and ironing board.
There is a lovely pine kitchen table with painted chairs enough for 5 people
KITCHEN
Upstairs, you will find all floors fitted with Sisal flooring, a King size bed in the main bedroom, hanging space and cupboards with a dressing table and stool, a hairdryer, bedside cabinets and table lamps. A standard double bed is in the 2nd bedroom - this room also has a sofa bed which can be made up to provide either a twin bed set up or as an extra bed for the 5th guest.
When the sofa bed is not made up, it serves as a fabulous individual sofa. The bedroom has lovely exposed stone walls and has a real 'hide away' feel. On the landing is a shabby chic style console table - great for lap tops, with a desk lamp and a long wall mirror. The landing looks out on to the cottage garden at the rear of the property.
The double beds are made ready for your arrival with lovely crisp white bed linen, soft quilts, pillows, throws and bolster cushions for your comfort.
UPSTAIRS
The bathroom is set in stone walls with travertine tiles and contemporary fittings in the bath, overhead shower, basin and a soft close lid on the w.c.
A lovely deep window sill gives a great space for toiletries, oak framed mirror, wall mounted shaving mirror, heated towel rail, plenty of soft towels and bath mats.
Toiletries are provided including soap, hand cream, shower gel, body lotion, loo roll etc.
BATHROOM
The cottage garden is private and very secure, it looks out over toward the c.13th Century Church of St Mary's.
There is a stone built summer house which is great for relaxing, reading, playing outdoor games.
Directly outside the back door is a lovely set of metal garden furniture with a sun shade for the summer months and a gas BBQ. We have mature wisteria growing on the stone walls providing lovely soft green shading in the summer months

Wishbone provides its guests with an elegant relaxing break, beautifully renovated limestone internal walls which add such great character to the building and a lovely feel throughout the cottage

Guest access
​
There is on street parking at Wishbone
​
We do not recommend the cottage for wheel chair users as there is a step in to the cottage from the pavement and 2 sets of stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom
​
Guests have exclusive access to the whole of Wishbone including the private cottage garden at the rear of the property.

Interaction with guests
​
During your booking process you are always welcome to reach out to us for any details that you might find helpful during your stay.
​
We provide access via a secure key safe box at the property, allowing you to let yourself in and out at the beginning and end of your stay at times which are most convenient to you with no concerns of needing to arrange to meet someone to hand over keys or struggling to gain access. You are then left to your own devices and given all privacy for the duration of your stay. We are of course always readily contactable if help or assistance is required.

Other things to note
​
The sofa bed can be made up to create a good sized extra bed in the 2nd bedroom for the extra 5th person in your group (The sofa bed is approximately 4 feet wide)
​
Where possible, we try and accommodate early or late check in and departure times - this usually depends on previous guests and change overs on the day.
​
Minimum Stay

At certain times of year we ask for a minimum stay length, please ask for further details if you are looking for a short booking.
